Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid
Replace your faulty 1999-2004 Mustang vapor canister vent solenoid with this high-quality replacement! A defective vapor canister vent solenoid can cause several issues, such as check engine lights, failed emissions, excessive fuel vapor smells, and several other issues. It is directly attached to the charcoal canister next to the gas tank on the driver's side. Made from a combination of a durable metal shell with molded plastic construction, just like the OEM unit. With all of the correct electrical and vacuum connections in place for a simple installation. Control the fuel vapors safely and securely with this high-quality replacement!

What Is A Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid?
The vapor canister vent solenoid is hooked into the evaporative emissions canister and controls the flow of fresh air into the evaporative emissions canister. The EVAP vapor canister vent solenoid is normally closed. When the engine is shut OFF, vapors from the fuel tank flow into the evaporative emissions canister. After the engine is started, the evaporative emission canister purge valve is engaged and opens, purging the fuel vapors into the engine. With the evaporative emission canister purge valve open, vapors from the fuel tank are routed directly into the engine. This leaves a vacuum in the system where the vent solenoid allows regulated fresh air into the canister to prevent this issue.
