Ford Performance Hi-Energy Ignition Coils
With the release of the 2020 GT500, Ford needed to provide an ignition coil that was up to the task of providing spark to the high horsepower 5.2L supercharged Predator engine. Ford Performance realized the increase power potential for the 2016-2017 GT and 2015-2020 GT350 as a drop in upgrade compared to the factory coils installed on these Mustangs. These hi-energy S550 coils will improve performance by providing more joules of energy to the spark plugs!

Increased Energy
Ford Performance hi-energy ignition coils are designed to effectively increase horsepower in your S550 by increasing the energy supplied to each spark plug. With the addition to superchargers, turbos, or nitrous, the cylinder pressure is increased dramatically making it harder for the spark plug to ignite the fuel in the cylinders, which is sometimes called spark blowout. The Ford Performance hi-energy ignition coils provide a 60% increase in millijoules over the stock GT and GT350/R ignition coils which will decrease the chances of spark blow and detonation. This increase from the stock 33mJ to 50mJ for the Ford Performance coils drastically decreases the chances of your Mustangs of not being able to ignite the air/fuel ratio!
