Ford Performance Axle Install Kit This Ford Racing 1979-04 Mustang 7.5" or 8.8" rear axle installation kit consists of two-axle bushings, two axle C-clips, and one 4-ounce bottle of friction modifier. These parts are included with every Ford Performance 8.8" axle assembly. They are now available separately in this kit in response to requests from racers and fabricators.
Friction ModifierFord Performance Friction Modifier is identical to the Motorcraft XL3 Friction Modifier. This fluid is a specially formulated additive to provide smooth operation of clutch-type limited-slip differentials. One bottle of friction modifier is required when changing the gear oil in rear ends equipped with Ford traction-lok units. In your Mustang, a friction modifier additive is necessary to reduce this chatter. Ford Performance friction modifier is designed to eliminate gear-housing noise and chatter in your drivetrain.
Upper Axle BushingThe upper axle bushings are a great replacement for ripped, torn, or worn-out upper control arm bushings in your Mustang. These control arm bushings can become dry-rotted and split, causing poor handling, wheel hop, and performance loss. This direct replacement bushing from Ford restores your Mustang's rear suspension back to factory specs to get your Mustang riding smoothly again.
