This Ford Performance M-8600-M50BALT alternator kit includes everything needed to mount the alternator on all the Ford Performance 5.0-liter 4V Ti-VCT crate engines. It includes OEM Boss 302 alternator, increased tension belt tensioner, FEAD belt and mounting bolts. The Alternator features a 1-way clutch to prevent belt jump-off at high RPM shifts as well as a larger alternator pulley to slow the armature speed, reduce drag and reduce parasitic hp loss.

Kit advertises, "Includes everything needed to install the alternator on FRPP 5.0L Crate Engines" - IT DOES NOT!
You will need to fabricate spacers for the mounting bolts; specifically, 7/16 OD and 3/8 ID to account for the play between the Alternator drilled holes and the bolts supplied in the kit. Try finding a spacer AT YOUR LOCAL HARDWARE STORE...ain't happening - Ford doesn't stock the spacers either - Nothing at Pull-A-Part either - Coyote is TOO NEW. You could re-drill the block and use the buy a 7/16" diameter bolt and tap new THREADS - no thanks! I turned down a set of bronze spacers on my lathe to accommodate the delta and achieve proper fitment. You could use Nylon bushings too I suspect. You could also use copper tubing - 1/16 thickness - and wrap the alternators bolts during installation.
Very frustrating - I expect better from LMR.

Excellent replacement package for stock GT alternator

After having the stock alternator fail with a bad voltage regulator, I looked into stock replacements and the cost was a bit steep. I came across the FRPP Boss 302 kit and it is not only less expensive, but comes with the idler and tensioner which are better quality than the stock plastic pulleys.
I was concerned that the Boss alternator would not put out enough current, so I called Ford Racing and they assured me that it was up to the task. In fact the guy there said they have stopped selling the regular alternator and only have this one since it is so popular. This is probably why they can offer it for less than the regular unit.
Install went fine. You may have to wrestle the unit in and out around you radiator hose. I found that taking off the air intake inlet that is mounted to the radiator support makes it much easier. It is the oblong piece sitting vertically.
I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this alternator kit. Since I can't speak of longevity, I'll give it four star for now.
