Application and Fitment Notes

  • Factory and aftermarket engine mounts may have alignment pins that can cause fitment issues. Removal of the alignment pin might be necessary for correct mating of engine mount to k-member.
  • The suspension bushings included with this part can only be lubricated with PTFE grease, also referred to as "Marine Grease". PTFE grease is a very sticky, opaque grease that is waterproof and will not degrade the bushing material. If lubed properly at installation, these bushings will not need to be lubricated again. Use of any other grease on these bushings will cause the bushing to fail and any bushing warranty to be voided.
  • These MMFCA-20 control arms have SN-95 style ball joints. When using an SN95 spindle, you will not need any additional spacers for proper castle nut clearance.
  • Clunks, squeaks, and pops can be normal occurrences with coil-over setups
  • Coil-over conversion may reduce the area between the strut and wheel. High positive offset wheels or wide wheels may have clearance issues between wheels/tires and coil-over setup.
  • The Maximum Motorsports two-point k-member brace included with the k-member may not clear some larger oil pans. This brace does not need to be used if there is oil pan clearance issues.

1979-1993 Mustang Maximum Motorsports Tubular K-Member & Control Arm Kit

This 1979-1993 Mustang Maximum Motorsports tubular K-member & control arm kit is a great way to upgrade your Foxbody suspension and drop front-end weight. This Mustang suspension kit requires the use of a coil-over conversion and can reduce the front-end weight by up to 40+ lbs. This weight difference helps acceleration and handling for quicker track times while improving steering performance. This combination of a tubular k-member and tubular control arms keeps the stock wheelbase by retaining the ball-joints stock fore/aft location. Maximum Motorsport gets more engine clearance for easier header installs, oil pan, and starter maintenance. The factory Ford K-Members weigh on average 50 lbs. The MM K-Member weighs 36 lbs.

Mustang Tubular Control Arms

These lightweight tubular control arms give your 1979-1993 Mustang better handling, traction, and performance. Paired in this kit with a tubular k-member, they keep the stock wheelbase by retaining the SN-95 style ball joint's stock fore/aft location. Features urethane control arm bushing for less deflection and quicker steering response. These SN-95 ball joints are perfect for Fox Mustangs with SN-95 spindles or fox spindles.
