Easily install your aftermarket gears with this pinion depth setting tool from Ratech! Now you can quickly select the proper pinion shim for setting up a new rear gear set in your 1986-2014 Mustang equipped with an 8.8" rear end. Ratech's tool gives you an accurate depth in 5 easy steps. These steps are detailed in the included instructions, as well as the PDF link at the bottom of this page.

Installation Note
Beyond selecting the proper pinion shim, several other specialty tools are required to properly set up a gear set in your Mustang. These include a dial or digital caliper, dial indicator with mag base, and an inch-lb beam type torque wrench. We always recommend the professional installation of your new rear gear set by a qualified shop.
