The 1984 Mustang was a real year of transition for the Fox Body platform. Ford introduced the all-new SVO as an alternative to the small block V8. Many running production changes were made with a melding of components from 1983, 84', and the upcoming 1985. An example of this was some of the early 1984 GT ads that showed the car with a 1983-styled front fascia without fog lights. Others even showed the 1983 hood scoop. Only the original documentation can fully prove what was correct on a specific model.
To commemorate the Mustang's 20th Anniversary, a speciality Mustang GT350 (also known as the 1984.5 Mustang) was developed that contained either a 3-door hatch or 2-door convertible. These models had 2 engine options to choose from which were a 5.0L or a 2.3L turbo. Ford also introduced the Electronic Fuel Injected 5.0L that changed the Ford Mustang forever!
