This year, Ford introduced the all-new SVO as an alternative to the small block V8. To commemorate the Mustang's 20th Anniversary, a specialty Mustang GT350 (also known as the 1984.5 Mustang) was developed that contained either a 3-door hatch or a 2-door convertible. These models had 2 engine options to choose from: a 5.0L or a 2.3L turbo. Ford also introduced the Electronic Fuel Injected 5.0L, which changed the Ford Mustang forever.
