1989 was the 25th anniversary of the Ford Mustang! For two years, there were many rumors and much speculation regarding what Ford would do. However, things went unchanged for the 1989 Mustang. Ford introduced a few new colors and produced the convertible with flag-style side mirrors!
Little changes were made to the Mustang in 1989 since sales continued to stay strong, with more than half of the 1989 models sold were the 5.0 engine. Mustang found its niche with performance buyers by outselling both the Camaro and Firebird yet again.
