In 1990, the only major change was the addition of a driver-side airbag. It was now four years that the car remained the same for all intents and purposes. However, the Ford Mustang was more popular than ever! Around this time, a growing cottage industry was being grown around the car, with new engine accessories and body parts being released consistently. Like how the first Mustangs appealed to the older generation, the third generation was starting to appeal to a much younger crowd.
While sales in 1990 were considerably less than the year before, the Mustang still came out on top compared to the Camaro and Firebird models. Check out our 1990 Mustang specs below!
