In 1999 the Mustang was extensively restyled! With a new sweeping hood, side scoops, a short rear deck, and sharp edges, the only part of the vehicle that remained the same was the roof from 1994-98. The new P.I. SOHC motor produced 35 more HP than the old 4.6L. Ford also introduced the 35th-anniversary limited edition which was only produced in the GT trim!
