Ford unveiled a whole new edgy look in 1999 to celebrate its 35th anniversary! This design featured sharper contours, larger wheel arches and more defined body lines that replaced the softer lines. Ford also offered another special edition in mustang in 2001 along with a redesigned Cobra and revised 4.6L OHC v8 from the previous 96-98 SN95 Mustang, commonly knows as the performance improved motor or PI motor!
Ford upgraded the 4.6L OHC engine featuring bigger intake ports and intake runners. SVT and Ford also worked together to develop the one and only 2003-2004 SVT Cobra. Commonly known as the terminator! This new SVT Cobra featured a IRS and a supercharged 4.6L DOHC making a tremendous amount of power from the factory. The Bullit and Mach one were revived, with the Bullit making 5 more HP over a stock GT thanks to a new intake design and Mach 1 boasting a 4.6L DOHC V8 naturally aspirated engine producing 305HP!
The 1999-2004 Mustang generation was a huge deal for the Mustang World. Not only did Ford bring back the Mach 1, SVT Cobra, and Bullitt, but they also introduced its Pony package and another all new Cobra R. These special edition models helped shape the Mustang we have come to love to this day!
