In 2005, Ford took a giant step forward with the redesigned Mustang. The design team at Ford dropped the old Fox-4 body chassis, which had been around in one form or another since '79, and added styling cues from the '64-'70 first-gen Mustang. The 2005 Mustang looked very much like the 1969 Mustang upfront. The taillights were also highly reminiscent of the 1969 car from the rear. Unfortunately, on this 2005 model, there were no side scoops available, but the rear side roof glass was very similar to the 1966 Shelby.
