2007 Mustang Specs, Horsepower, & Weights

The biggest changes in the 2007 Model year were the GT500 and other Shelby vehicles, as well as the California special package! The new GT500 boasted a 5.4L putting out an impressive 500 HP and 480 lb-ft of torque. The California special package received all-new exterior stylings such as wheels, front fascia, rear diffuser, and much more!

An often overlooked model in 2007 was the Shelby GT-H. 500 of these were produced for Hertz (482 convertibles and 18 coupes). The biggest difference between the Shelby GT and GT-H is that the GT hood scoop was similar to the 1965-66 model and the stripes were silver instead of gold like they are on the GT-H. Additionally, a "Powered By Ford" badge was used on the front fenders.

The most impressive Mustang of 2007 is the GT500. This GT500 was available in both coupe and convertible options with only being equipped with a Tremec six-speed manual gearbox. This was all routed through a 3.31 limited-slip rear axle and the engine used a sturdy forged crankshaft, forged connecting rods, and pistons. While the modular 5.4l used a cast-iron cylinder block it used aluminum cylinder heads, double overhead camshafts, and four valves per cylinder. A supercharged set at 9 psi brought this vehicle up to 500 HP. This model came with just about every option you would want on a Mustang at this time ranging from ABS brakes with traction control to the Shaker 500 (Shaker 1000 optional upgrade) sound system being standard on all models.
