From the factory, Ford covered the Fox Body Mustang ignition coil. It hides the ignition coil and all the wiring around it. Not only did this protect the wires and coil from the elements but it made the engine look nice and neat by hiding this mess of wiring.
Often these are broken and cracked due to engine heat and weathering. The rest of the time they are missing because someone tossed them in order to show off an upgraded MSD or Screamin' Demon ignition coil.
Installation is super easy and should take you no more than 10 mins to remove the old one and install the new Mustang Coil Cover. If you are missing the installation hardware, LatemodelRestoration.com carries the 5.0Resto ignition coil cover hardware kit.

JONATHAN MCDONALD: Very commonly missing part on '86 to '93 Mustangs is the coil cover. Now this coil cover completely hides all the coil and the wiring that goes to the starter solenoid. Now our 5.0 Resto brand coil cover is identical to the original, has the correct mounting tabs, even has a notch cut out for the coil wire to pass through. Installation is extremely simple and will take you less than a minute. And it will greatly improve the appearance of your underhood.
Slide the coil cover down into place engaging the tabs on the bottom with the frame rail right above the display bar mount. Then line up your tabs and the middle one right behind the brake master cylinder on the strut tower. The top one with the hole right next to the fender-- use our 50resto push pin kit to attach the coil cover to the car and you're done.
All right, that literally took seconds to install and completely hides all the nasty wiring behind here. Now for more Mustang restoration and renewal parts, check out latemodelrestoration.com.
