Mustang Oil Pan & Parts

Your Mustang oil pan provides more than a home for your engine oil; it controls the movement of oil side to side, front to back, and prevents windage. Windage is a flow of air created by moving parts, namely the crankshaft, that cause the engine oil to aerate. Aeration of the oil will cause air bubbles to be introduced into the engine oil, which can cause lubrication issues within the engine. High-performance oil pans have specialized baffles that keep oil around the oil pump pickup tube to help prevent oil starvation under high g forces. Many of these Mustang oil pans also add to the oil capacity of your engine. Added oil capacity will keep your engine oil at a lower temperature which will keep your engine properly lubricated!
