This particular sound deadener or also referred to as jute backing, is a must have upgrade or replacement for your 79-93 Coupe owners. Made from half inch thick, heavyweight jute padding, this sound deadener is thicker than your stock piece and is pre-cut to fit perfectly behind the rear seat.
Being a sound deadener, there really isn’t much more to talk about on this one guys. So follow along as I walk you through the quick steps on installing this rear seat sound deadener into this ’92 coupe.
To begin installation, start by removing your rear seat. Push the seat base toward the back of the car and then lift up to remove it. Remove the seat back by lifting up and lay it down where the seat base would go. Lay the sound deadener over the seat back with the castle side to the top and the jute padding to the seat back. Cut out the bottom holes in the sound deadener for the two locating bolts in the body of the car.
Position the sound deadener to the back of the trunk. Slide the sides of the deadener under the rear interior quarter panel. More than likely, you will have to remove a push pin to allow the sound deadener to slide under the rear interior quarter panel. Do the same for the other side. Remember, make sure the jute padding is facing toward you. Make sure the sound deadener is centered and then reinstall your seat back. Double check your seat belts to ensure they aren’t trapped by the seat back. Reinstall your seat bottom and you’re all done.
As far as installation is concerned, I’d say this one should take you around 15 minutes from start to finish. And like I said before guys, this 5.0 Resto sound deadener is a substantial upgrade and obviously much needed if your car doesn’t have one.
