What’s up guys? Landan here with Late Model Restoration and today I'm going to be introducing a new project we are more than excited to start on. I promise, you won't want to miss this one! So stay tuned!

Beside me is a bone stock, 1999 electric green Mustang GT with 160 thousand miles. It has a 4R70W transmission which is a 4 speed unit with an electronic over drive. Of course, hiding under the hood is the 4.6L two valve modular engine that is rated at a whopping 260HP and 305 pound feet of torque.

Like any project, they often times need a good, rememberable name; so we decided on “Project Green Bean”! Yeah, it's a little on the corny side, but it's one of those things that are mentioned, people laugh and ya stick with it!

Our goal for “Project Green Bean” is too build a friendly street/strip car that still retains a few creature comforts such as A/C and heat. However, we will sacrifice a few of those such as power steering and power-assist brakes. This build will primarily cover everything except a built engine and nitrous which isn't set in stone at the moment. But, whenever we get to that point, we’ll be sure and let you guys know.

The build will come together thanks to several awesome manufacturers! “Project Green Bean” will be outfitted with quality components from Team Z, Strange Engineering, Maximum Motorsports, Flaming River, Performance Automatic, Flowmaster, Bassani, and Aeromotive. All of those guys are top notch, and masters of their craft.

As it sits in stock trim, this car ran a best of 9.43 at 76mph in the eighth mile. So if you use a trustworthy online quarter mile estimator, that pass was estimated at 14.73 with a 94mph trap. By the way the sixty foot time was 2.26 on that pass. Some of you are probably asking, “Why not a quarter mile pass?” Well, unfortunately our local quarter mile strip wasn't open just yet.

The following week, Green Bean did get a set of our chrome SVE drag wheels, 4.10 gears and an SCT strategy tune just to see how much time we could really chip away at. With the gears, strategy tune, and drag wheels the car was consistent with a 9.20 pass at 76mph that boasted a 2.12 sixty foot. Using the online calculator again, that pass was estimated at 14.38 with a 93mph trap. It was a subtle drop in time, but more importantly those few mods made the car very consistent.

Other than that guys, we’ll break this build down into several stages and highlight the majority of the parts and methods we used to get them installed. All of the work will be done by my good buddy Mike and myself right here within the confinements of our own facility.

You'll definitely want to subscribe to our YouTube channel if you haven't already done so. Until we tackle stage 1 of our build guys, keep it right here with the real Mustang enthusiasts, Late Model Restoration.
