This article explores our 1993 Silver Mustang LX Hatchback and how we made it the performance spectacle that every Fox Body owner wants!
From a production standpoint, this is a pretty rare, hard-to-find car! Just 344 silver metallic 5.0 LX hatchbacks were built-in 1993. Engine displacement is unknown but believed to be a standard-issue 302 with mild camshaft. The cylinder heads are an old set of Dart Windsor Juniors which are very modest, to say the least. Specs are cast iron construction with 1.94” intake and 1.60” exhaust valves. The intake manifold is from a ’93 Cobra and other tidbits throughout the car include Ford Performance plug wires, Motorcraft spark plugs gapped to “.035, Ford Performance 47 lb/hr injectors and a properly calibrated Pro-M mass air meter.
