Brembo has been a global leader in automotive brake components since 1961! Starting out as production brake parts for Italian cars, Brembo then secured the motorcycle braking market. By 1975 Brembo brakes became equipped on the most prestigious cars in Formula 1. Today, Brembo still leads the aftermarket braking market with quality parts that perform better than the rest. Brembo brakes have been featured on special edition Mustangs such as the 2000 Cobra R as well as 2007 to present Shelby GT500s. These high-quality brake systems became a factory option for 2011 Mustang GT's and that continues to the new S550 Mustangs. Shop our selection of Mustang Brembo brake kits below now!

1961 marked the beginning of a company that transformed a simple automotive component into a distinctive element with its own distinct personality in terms of both aesthetics and performance.

Brembo will mark its 60th anniversary in 2021, with an entrepreneurial journey entrenched in technological innovation and continual design and performance research that led to a prominent place in Motorsport and a constant commitment to sustainability.

Brembo's growth route has been studded with major technological, sporting, and commercial accomplishments, establishing the business as a market leader in Italy and around the world - a brand whose name is synonymous with "brakes" all over the world. In 1972, it produced the first full brake system, which was installed as standard on Guzzi and Laverda motorcycles; in 1975, it supplied Ferrari with Formula 1 parts; and in the 1980s, it produced the first aluminum caliper and the first carbon discs. Then came the IPO, the opening of new plants in all of the company's clients' countries, the opening of the Kilometro Rosso innovation district just outside of Bergamo, and finally the most recent challenges faced in responding to the current profound transformations and trends in mobility, which are increasingly electric and sustainable.
