This Comp Cams Xtreme Energy hydraulic roller cam is a great way to add horsepower to your 1985-1995 Mustang 5.0. Comp Cams Xtreme Energy hydraulic roller cam not only adds performance but also gives your Mustang an aggressive lope exhaust tone. Comp Cams 224/232 roller camshaft offers good idle quality and excellent low and mid-range power for your 302 engine. While it adds a noticeable power improvement, perfect for a modified Mustang Manual transmission with a minimum of a 3.73 rear-end and Automatics need at least a 2500 RPM Stall. Works well with a manual transmission, automatic transmission, and mass air fuel injection.

1985 Mustang 5.0/5.8 w/ factory hydraulic roller cam block
1986 Mustang 5.0/5.8 w/ factory hydraulic roller cam block. May require the stock 5.0 flat-top pistons to be fly-cut for valve reliefs or replace the pistons with ones with valve reliefs.

Piston to Valve Clearance

Piston-to-valve clearance and pushrod lengths need to be checked in every application. See our SVE valve clearance and pushrod length checking tool, SVE-PTVTOOL.

Fitment Notice

Performance camshafts work only with mass air induction systems on EFI engines. They will not work with Explorer EEC-V EFI.
Recommended a minimum of a 3.73 rear-end, and Automatics need at least a 2500 RPM Stall
