Ford Performance 4.10 Gear Kit
Upgrade the gears in your 1986-1993 Mustang 8.8" with a Ford Performance 4.10 gear kit to maximize performance. Your factory gears are built to maximize fuel mileage, which leaves much to be desired in the performance department. A gear change can provide a night and day difference when it comes to your Mustang's performance. While these gears do not increase horsepower, they will definitely allow your Fox Body to get the most out of your low-end torque! Specifically designed for the 8.8 rear end, this kit includes a Ford Performance 4.10 ring and pinion gear set that is made in the USA, as well as the additional parts needed for proper installation. Also included are an installation kit, two bottles of Royal Purple 75W140 gear oil, and one bottle of friction modifier. We designed this kit with everything you will need to make the installation of the ring and pinion gear set as painless as possible.

Ring & Pinion Super Install Kits

There are close tolerances that have to be met to ensure proper gear life. This rear gear "super" installation kit from Yukon comes with all the necessary shims and marking compound to ensure you have a proper wear pattern on the gears as well as new bearings and races to go along with your new gear set. Coming with a complete specific kit for the Ford 8.8" rear axle, you are sure to have everything you need.

Speedometer Correction

After installation of rear gears, you will need to correct the speedometer. There are different methods to do this depending on year model.

Changing your rear end gear ratio will require you to recalibrate your speedometer. For 83-95 Fox Body and SN95 Mustangs, you will need to replace your speedometer gear to fix your speedometer. If you have a 1996 to present Mustang your best fix is to pick up a SCT tuning device such as the SF3 handheld tuner to correct your speedometer. When replacing the ring and pinion gears on your Mustang don't forget to pick up a traction lok clutch repair kit or new traction lock differential.
