2007-2009 GT500 Clutch Upgrade Kit
The 2007-2009 Mustang GT500 clutch is known for its share of inadequacies including disengagement issues to slipping. Ford Issued TSB# 10-3-8 to help remedy most of the issues. It outlines all of the testing procedures as well as replacement parts needed for common GT500 clutch and transmission issues.
Factory Ford GT500 Clutch Upgrade Kit
In TSB # 10-3-8, Ford Motor Company outlines replacing the stock 07-09 clutch with an upgraded 2010-2012 GT500 clutch assembly (CR3Z-7B546-A), a 2010-2012 GT500 flywheel (AR3Z-6375-A), a 2010-12 GT500 hydraulic release bearing/slave cylinder (DR3Z-7A508-A), and 10-12 GT500 slave cylinder fluid tube. We include all these top notch clutch components in an all inclusive kit that also comes with new pressure plate and flywheel retaining bolts.
More Power Handing, Stock Drive-ability
This FoMoCo Clutch Kit will improve the power handling capability of your 07-09 GT500 while retaining factory stock drive-ability and service life. This kit is a direct replacement for the existing clutch, but Ford does recommend a PCM update be performed by your ford dealer to alter the idle and rev characteristics on a stock car.
This replacement project went from being a few hours long to a nightmare of a weekend.

I was uncertain that this kit would actually work but after getting off the phone with the well known Jonathan McDonald AKA JMac he reassured me that this would be a quick and easy replacement. Capable of handling up 900 ft-lbs of torque I immediately made the choice in buying it. However the install wasn't so easy for me nor my mechanic. After spending a whole day installing this clutch we couldn't, for the love of all mighty god, put the transmission back on. There was about an inch of the clutch assembly that wouldn't let us bolt it back on. It ended up being that my mechanic had put the fly wheel on backwards "Huge facepalm". This was due to the fact that the markings where reversed. He says that someone at ford must of accidentally marked the wrong side which unfortunately led to our horrible experience with the install. SO if you order this clutch and have no experience with this clutch then please do yourself the favor of not being a complete noob like my mechanic and I and actually go to someone who knows how to properly install this bad boy. Anyways let me tell you that once i drove my car off.. WOW incredibly light clutch, hardly any effort unlike the McLeod RXT that I had previously oh and no chatter or slipping at all. !!!SMOOTH AS BUTTER ON A BABIES BUTT CHEEKS!!!
Moral of the story is that this is the best clutch you can get for your 07-09 GT500 that can handle daily driving, is comfortable and can handle some extra HP increase if needed. Other than that I just truly want to thank JMac and Latemodel Restoration for being able to provide all these amazing products and reasonable prices and fast shipping! Truly love you guys!!!

Happy w/the LMR/Ford replacement package

All installed, drove her home about 10 miles so here's the intial impressions.
It is night and day over the OEM '07-09 clutch. The OEM clutch was a rock crusher that could wear out your l. leg in stop & go traffic. And let's not forget the chatter issue and abrupt engagement.
The LMR/Ford replacement package is fully complete, and buttery soft and smooth in operation. Reminds me very much of my clutch from the '14 GT track pack car. There is ZERO chatter from the LMR/Ford package.
I have 2 concerns though: 1) The pedal is supremely soft, offering very little resistance and 2) the engagement of the clutch feels fairly narrow.
Both of these matters could simply be tied in w/acclimation to the new clutch, particularly after having dealt w/the issues of the OEM clutch for nearly 30k miles.
I've noted that some folks have made similar complaints about light weight of the '18 clutch set up so Steeda has released a new clutch pedal spring that increases resistance, so that item may be taken under consideration.
Overall, I think the package was a good deal economically from LMR and I'm glad I went Ford OEM replacement parts over the aftermarket. I know some folks like the other stuff but I'd read too many issues w/them and since my car is a daily driver, not a garage queen or track machine, I need this to be suitable for commuting. This clutch set up will do that.
If you decide on this LMR package, you'll need to make sure the shop you choose has access to the proper tools for aligning the dual clutch & a proper device to reflash the computer.
