TMI Quality

This standard cloth upholstery kit features OE-style patterns to match the seats that your Mustang came with from the factory. The material and color used are the closest available matches we've come across. This upholstery kit utilizes the same zig-zag pattern used in the 1979 Mustang Pace Car. They use the same exact black ribbed trim and cloth fabric as the original seats come equipped with. This kit includes every piece you need for a complete refresh of your front and back seats.

Recaro Seat Foam
This kit comes with the foam inserts needed for your driver and passenger seats. This seat foam completely gives your seat a new feel and advanced comfortability with a high back and knee bolsters that give you support in the places needed most. All seat foam assemblies are made with environmentally sensitive automotive grade polyurethane foam and include internal wireframes to help add support and retain the shape of the seat!

Common 1979-1993 Fox Body Mustang Seat Upholstery Issues

Collapsed & Crumbled Foam - The foam bolsters, especially on the driver's side, break down due to entry and exit friction.
Leather/Vinyl Cracking & Fading - The factory leather and vinyl on the seat bottoms and upper bolsters dry out and crack, particularly in convertibles.
Prolonged UV Sun Exposure - Excessive sun exposure and a lack of proper conditioning cause the material to stiffen and eventually split along the grain lines.
Split Seams & Velcro Separation - From stress and age, the stitching on the seat bottoms lets go, resulting in gaping holes in the seat center. Over time, the Velcro pulls loose from the foam, causing the seat cover to stretch, loosen, and put excess stress on the stitched seams.
