Application

  • 1979-1995 Ford Mustangs w/302 pushrod (5.0L) and 351 pushrod (5.8L)

Required Parts

  • Requires the use of Maximum Motorsports control arms, see note below. Stock and other brand control arms are not compatible with this k-member.
  • Requires the use of coil-overs.
  • Requires the use of caster camber plates.
  • MM rack bushings will be required

Application and Fitment Notes

  • 1979-1993 Mustang Control Arm Offset: Maximum Motorsports tubular control arm MM-MMFCA1 will offset the front wheels .75" forward. Maximum Motorsports tubular control arm MM-MMFCA20 will not offset the front wheels forward. Clearance of the bumper and inner slash shield may be necessary depending on the offset and wheel combination.
  • 1994-1995 Mustang Control Arm Offset: Maximum Motorsports tubular control arm MM-MMFCA7 will offset the front wheels .75" forward. Maximum Motorsports tubular control arm MM-MMFCA10 will offset the front wheels 1.50" forward. Clearance of the bumper and inner slash shield may be necessary depending on the offset and wheel combination.
  • Bump steer kits may be required to correct suspension geometry.
  • Offset control arms may require sway bar relocation to prevent the sway bar from coming in contact with the strut.
  • Factory and aftermarket engine mounts may have alignment pins that can cause fitment issues. Removal of the alignment pin might be necessary for correct mating of engine mount to k-member.
  • Clunks, squeaks, and pops can be normal occurrences with coil-over setups
  • Coil-over conversion may reduce the area between the strut and wheel. High positive offset wheels or wide wheels may have clearance issues between wheels/tires and coil-over setup.
  • The Maximum Motorsports two-point k-member brace included with the k-member may not clear some larger oil pans. This brace does not need to be used if there are oil pan clearance issues.
  • This k-member will not work with stock control arms. The geometry will be incorrect.

Mustang Maximum Motorsports Tubular K-Member

Reduce weight while improving suspension geometry with this Maximum Motorsports tubular K-member for the 1979-1995 Mustang! Maximum Motorsports spent over two years optimizing this K-Member, both on the track and on the computer. The result is that the front of your car will corner like nothing else you’ve experienced! Unlike other K-members on the market, strength, stiffness, and durability are given a higher priority than ultra-low weight so that your investment will last the life of your vehicle. Maximum Motorsports' k-member lengthens the wheelbase 3/4" which improves the front/rear weight distribution and increases caster. It also improves the camber curve on lowered vehicles while improving the roll center height. The tubular design provides more engine clearance for easier header, oil pan, and starter maintenance.

K-Member Features

  • Offsets the wheelbase 3/4" forward, which improves the front/rear weight distribution and increases caster.
  • Optimized vertical location of the control arm pivots. This improves the camber curve on lowered vehicles and improves the roll center height.
  • Two different vertical locations for the control arm pivots. Allows you to choose the one that's best for your car's ride height.
  • Optimized location of the steering rack for the greatest improvement in Ackerman steering geometry, which helps reduce understeer and tire wear.
  • Allows 5.0 engines to be set back one inch.
  • Pre-drilled plumb bob holes for easy and accurate squaring of the K-member to the car.
  • Two point K-member brace included.
