Maximum Motorsports Rear Lower Control Arms
Maximum Motorsports Sport Series Rear Lower Control Arms for the 1999-2004 Mustang increase traction and handling by eliminating undesirable deflection caused by the original soft rubber bushings and flexible stamped steel control arm. At each end, a unique MM 3-piece urethane bushing enables the articulation needed for appropriate handling while reducing deflection that might cause wheel hop. The adjustable-height spring perch allows you to adjust the Mustang's rear ride height. These adjustable rear lower control arms feature a 2" tubular steel construction, a black powder-coated finish for additional rigidity, and height adjustability to allow the ultimate fine-tuning of your Mustang's rear suspension.
Ride Height Adjustability
Advantages to changing the ride height in the rear include:
- Enhance the appearance of your Mustang more to your liking.
- Compensating for added weight, such as heavy sound system components.
- Raising the rear end raises the instant center, increasing the anti-squat percentage, and providing a harder hit to the tire on launch.
- Fine-tuning the ride height (either up or down) to adjust the instant center and therefore the anti-squat percentage, to optimize the launch.
- To weight jack the car when scaling it, to optimize the diagonal weights for best handling.
- To raise the right rear corner, increasing the weight on that tire, therefore improving launching by reducing right rear tire spin.
Application
- Fits 1999-2004 Mustang with solid rear axle
Bushing Lubrication
- The suspension bushings included with this part can only be lubricated with PTFE grease, also referred to as "Marine Grease". PTFE grease is a very sticky, opaque grease that is water proof and will not degrade the bushing material. If lubed properly at installation, these bushings will not need to be lubricated again. Use of any other grease on these bushings will cause the bushing to fail and any bushing warranty to be voided.
