Replacing your Mustang fuel filter should be part of your regular maintenance procedures. If you let these go to long, they will become clogged and rob you of horsepower/performance and decrease your fuel economy. Installation is simple and requires less than an hour in your own driveway.
When installing a fuel filter on your Mustang -- use only the best Genuine Motorcraft Fuel Filter (FG-800A)

1983-86 Mustang 2.3L Turbo, except for SVO
1986-95 Mustang 5.0L
1987-93 Mustang 2.3L
1994-97 Mustang 3.8L
1996-97 Mustang 4.6L 2V & 4V

Removing the fuel filter is very simple
have you a drain pan in place

and remove the plastic retaining clip
on each of the lines going in the filter

slide the fuel lines off
grab a 5/16 nut driver

and loosen the retaining clamp
you can slide the filter

out of the bracket. Reinstallation is just
as easy – slide the new filter into place

tighten the clamp/retaining bracket
slide your two hoses back into place

and use the supplied plastic retaining clips
to retain those lines into the Mustang fuel filter
