LMR's 1986 Ford Mustang SVO is a one-of-a-kind vehicle that was only made for three years. Follow along as we take a closer look at our 1986 SVO.
As one of the most-popular special-edition Fox Body Mustangs, the SVO offered a completely different experience than your typical N/A Mustang. Powered by a 2.3L turbocharged engine, the SVO put down 175 horsepower when it was released in 1987 and with a few changes for the 1985 model year, it picked up an additional 230 horsepower, putting out 205 horsepower and 248lb-ft torque.
This Jalapeno Red 1986 SVO we have in our stable is just about all stock, with the exception of a 190 LPH fuel pump and a manual boost controller that is set at the factory 15lbs of boost. Taking a look at the SVO, you can tell some pretty obvious differences, however, under the hood and body of the car, there were many changes not visible at first glance.
