Quality You Expect For Your Fox Body MustangThis kit includes a ton of high-quality components from great brands such as SVE, 5.0 Resto, Ford Performance, and others. Included is the
Tremec TKX transmission that features triple cone synchronizers with a non-leading tooth profile (taken from the T56) to eliminate the notchy feeling the TKO had. With the provided billet aluminum, short-throw shifter, you'll experience buttery smooth shifts all the way up the extended RPM range! The TKX is capable of 8,000 RPM engine speeds with shifts at 7,500 RPMs! A new bell housing spacer plate and a stifflers crossmember add stiffness and strength far beyond that of the OEM versions while offering versatility like no other. The SVE heavy-duty transmission mount is built with a heavy-duty rubber that helps reduce bushing deflection. The SVE aluminum driveshaft spacer eliminates the need for a custom driveshaft taking up the space of the shorter trans length! There are many more high-quality parts included in this kit to give you peace of mind, knowing your Fox Body is going to hold up to the torture of the road.
What's Not Included
The major components not in this kit that you will need to source to complete your TKX transmission swap are:
- Driveshaft (LMR recommends ALWAYS measuring before purchasing a new driveshaft)
- 26 Spline Clutch kit select your own to customize it to your application and power level - 1994-1995 Mustang Clutch Kits
- The TKX transmission in this kit will require the use of a 31 Spline Driveshaft SVE-4602J, M4602J, or Slip Yoke M236041X.
- Mustang manual pedal assembly.
FAQ (FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS)- Do I need to swap my automatic computer to a manual computer when doing this swap? You may continue using your automatic transmission computer.
- This flywheel has bolt-on weights; which weights do I use? Depending on your engine and balance, different weights may be used. Please check your engine build, especially if you have installed a stroker, before installing the weight on your flywheel. As a rule of thumb, 82-95 Mustang 5.0L 302 will be 50oz, most 351 engines will be 28oz, and strokers will depend on the manufacturer.
- Can this be used on a 351? The flywheel with this kit includes a neutral balance flywheel with 28oz and 50oz flywheel weights. Most 351 motors are 28oz which will be the smaller bolt-on weight included with the flywheel.

- For all TKX 5-speed models, TREMEC recommends TREMEC High-Performance Manual Transmission Fluid (HP-MTF™), Dexron-III, GM Synchromesh™, Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF, or Pennzoil® Synchromesh.
- Fluid capacity is 2.7 quarts.
- The transmission in this kit also features a 7-tooth drive gear.
- You will need to purchase a TKX-specific shifter handle, as the factory shift handle does NOT have the correct bolt pattern!
- Machining marks on the transmission mount boss may be present.
