Power Steering Rebuild KitReplace the leaking power steering system and whining pump on your 1979-1993 5.0 Mustang with this premium power steering rebuild kit! Normal wear and tear on your steering components result in too much play in the steering wheel as well as an increased effort to turn the wheel. When your Mustang is difficult to steer and has a slow steering response, the power steering pump or steering rack may be the culprit. To eliminate these issues entirely, this solution-based kit not only eases the effort required to steer but also eliminates pesky leaks and deteriorated components. A brand new steering rack, new power steering pump, along with all the needed lines, clamps, and even a filter, is supplied to completely restore the system without the need to return a core or pay a core charge!
Quick Ratio Power Steering RackUtilizes brand-new components in this steering rack to ensure performance and durability that lasts. This rack replaces your worn-out steering rack with a brand-new unit providing an improved steering response as well as reduced effort when turning the wheel. Utilizing the factory 15:1 quick ratio, this is the same ratio/effort as 79-93 V8 and 85-86 SVO applications and an upgrade for 79-93 2.3 & 1984 SVO by improving lock to lock turning from 3 turns to 2.5 turns as well as a higher-effort performance steering feel! The quick ratio steering rack features new components throughout, including new inner tie rods and dust boots. The inlet and outlet ports are the factory thread to accept 83-93 style hoses and lines. This steering rack has the correct factory threads for both tie rods and the correct spline count for the steering shaft.
Power Steering Pump & Hose KitProvided in this kit are the most common wear items within the power steering system, including a brand-new power steering pump, pressure hose, power steering hose bracket, and return hose. The pump in this kit is a 100% brand new power steering pump that is manufactured with a black-painted reservoir and topped off with a new fluid cap to ensure your engine bay is given a fresh new look. To extend the service life of your power steering system, new reinforced rubber pressure and return hoses are provided. Factory threaded ends are crimped onto both sides of the pressure hose to ensure leak-free performance between the power steering pump and steering rack for years to come! An optional filter is included with this rack to prevent debris from entering your power steering pump. From the factory, a filter was not present, but this filter can be added with modification to the hose.
