Do You Need A Tune For A Cold Air Intake On A Mustang GT?
Upgrading your intake is a great starter mod for new Mustang owners. But you’ll hear talk about “you need to tune your car” once you install it. Is that always true? The answer is yes but also no.
Your car is tuned from the factory to bring in so much air. So increasing that amount will make your GT run better. But tuning is not required. However, taking your car to a local tuner will allow you to get the most out of your new intake. You’ll see better results when adding extra horsepower and torque, which will benefit you in the long run. Luckily, these intakes are considered “no-tune” CAI. Which means they do not require a tune.
