Product Description

2000 Cobra R Style Wheels
The 2000 Cobra R wheel is arguably the best looking wheel that Ford ever made. In 2000, Ford produced a limited run of 300 factory race cars. They named it the Cobra R. Along with the race inspired body components, Ford designed this one of a kind Cobra R wheel. Designed to perform well on the track, this wheel is light weight, strong, and big enough to clear Brembo brakes. The large 18" diameter clears the bigger brakes, but it is also a wider 9.5 inches for increased traction on and off the track. All of this is completed in a bright silver painted finish.

Quality Construction
This high quality reproduction Y2K Cobra R wheel kit is made from light weight, one piece cast aluminum. This ensures strength and durability no matter what driving conditions you encounter. Weighing in at a meager 28.6lbs, this wheel will perform well on and off the track.

3 Stars   Decent quality, very thin paint

Image uploaded by James P. The wheels look ok, they are decent reproductions. My main beef with the wheels are the crazy thin paint used on them and one of my wheels was slightly out of round. Be sure you use an extremly thin, thin walled socket or you will ding up the wheels. I had to grind down my thin wall to get my lugs on. The wheel that was out fo round did balance up, but took a lot of weight to get it right.

Image uploaded by Kyle F. I have always loved the 00' Cobra so when I bought my 99' I knew what wheels I wanted. Only problem they stopped making them and my only option was settling for some FR500s. Sure enough about a month after I bought my FR500's LMR came back out with them and I was able to get them on sale at a great price!

The offset for the front is probably my biggest issue, as it forces the wheel a little further out then I would prefer. I believe these are 22mm and the factor Rs are 20mm. I ended up going with a 3/4" spacer in the back and it flushed everything right up! You could go out to a 1" spacer if you want, I just didn't want to end up with fender issues.

Overall great beefy look to the car now really gives it that Factory upgraded feel!

I bought these because they were on sale and I was looking to upgrade to 18" wheels. The wheels on the car currently are 95 Cobra R's. I was reluctant to not purchase chrome but I am very satisfied with my choice. One of the wheels arrived with a blemish and within 24 hours of contacting LMR, my customer service rep, Aaron had a replacement on order for me. Thank you Aaron and LMR on your great customer service.

I had already purchased a set of staggered wheels. However, my primary sport with my Cobra is autocross; Kenny Brown said that a staggered set-up would cause the car to "push" in a turn. Kenny recommended the same size wheel at all four corners w/ a 275/35 tire and stock engine (I am not going to argue with Kenny Brown). The wheels look good. I can't say whether they are light-weight, but they are not heavy. A 1/2 inch or 5/8 wheel spacer is necessary to get the rear tire flush even or just a smig beyond the rear fender - that will require 2.5 inch wheel lugs. In addition, go ahead and spend some more money for a set of small tuner lug nuts. Otherwise, you will beat-up the lug holes on your new wheels with a lug wrench. The only primary drawback of this wheel is that it sits maybe 3/8 inches outside of the top of the front fender.
