The 3.7L V6 engine was introduced in 2011 and has since changed the game when it comes to base model Mustangs. The 2011-14 V6 Mustangs came with decent brakes from the factory but there is some serious room for improvement. Some of the top Mustang brake upgrades come from Ford Racing with their M-2300-T and M-2300-S Brembo brake kits. If you aren’t looking to upgrade with a big brake kit, we also offer a complete line of performance brake rotors, pads and stainless steel lines – all of which will drastically improve your stopping distance.
For the first time ever, the 2011-14 V6 Mustangs featured a factory true dual exhaust system. What was once a popular upgrade for previous V6 owners, 3.7L owners don’t have to worry about doing a dual exhaust conversion. That doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement. Companies such as BBK have stepped up to offer performance headers and x-pipes. One of the best mods out of the gate is replacing the factory axle back exhaust.
It’s easy to add some aggressive exterior styling to any 3.7L V6 Mustang. Some of the most popular upgrades are chin spoilers and front grilles from companies such as Roush and SVE. Other popular upgrades include aftermarket hoods from Cervini’s and rear bumper diffusers. Shop some of the most popular exterior mods below!
Check out some of the top V6 Mustang intake options below. These cold air intakes do not require a tune; however, if you add an SCT Tuner into the mix you can expect BIG performance gains! Don’t forget to finish off that install with a new larger 73mm throttle body from BBK.
