Mustang Rear Disc Conversion
Ditch the drum brakes on your 1993 Mustang with this 5.0 Resto 4-lug disc brake conversion! This is the most complete 4-lug disc brake conversion you'll find on the market! This is a great conversion for someone that wants to retain their 4 lug wheels but upgrade to rear disc brakes. It has everything you need including the dust shields, proportioning valve, lines, calipers, pads, brake lines, E-brake cables, rotors and hardware. The factory 4-lug axles are retained for an easy installation.
The brake calipers included with this kit are the 93 Cobra/87-88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe rear calipers. These calipers are completely disassembled, thoroughly cleaned, inspected, and then reassembled using only the highest quality materials. These calipers come loaded which means they are ready to bolt on! New drum to disc brake conversion hard lines are included!
This kit includes a 93 Cobra master cylinder to provide the appropriate fluid pressure to the rear brakes. Maximum Motorsports 3-port to 2-port conversion kit will get it connected to your stock hard lines. Included with the master cylinder is the Ford Performance adjustable proportioning valve and 5.0 Resto block off plug to correctly provide brake fluid pressure to the rear calipers.
Parking Brake Cables
Our parking brake cables are a direct replacement for the stock drum brake cables. These cables connect to the body and the calipers with no modification. The correct e-clips are included to retain them to the caliper!
The 1986-1998 Mustang 8.8" housing is not perfect and it will be necessary to remove a small amount of material from the rear upper corner of the housing flange. This will allow the new bracket to be rotated into position for the bolt holes to line up. See the above product image of the driver side flange for the exact location the grinding is needed.
Step 1: To begin installation, support the car via a lift or jack stands. Remove both rear wheels. Remove the sway bar if equipped.
Step 2: Loosen and remove all of the bolts except for the top one.
This will keep the cover in place while you pry it open to drain the fluid.

I purchased this kit to install on my 93 LX. I loved the quick shipping and how well the customer is kept informed especially when parts are back ordered. I read and researched virtually all conversion kits including SSBC and happily settled for this kit because although a little more expensive than SSBC's, it looked like a more complete kit (included dust shields for example). The kit installed easy, and the instructions with assistance from pictures and similar explanation off the web site was all that was really needed for this install. However, I would have easily rated it 5 stars, but while unpacking the boxes and doing our inventory check, we immediately realized the banjo bolts were missing and had to search local parts stores and purchase the 2 missing bolts to complete the install. I bench bled the master and realized the fluid reservoir was leaking all the way around the seem. Not wanting to wait and go through a return procedure, I chose to epoxy the reservoir myself which seems to be holding. This is a very good kit if sent complete, and I would still recommend it to anyone wishing to do this conversion.
